# Mixlayer

> Mixlayer runs open models (DeepSeek, Qwen, GLM) behind an OpenAI-compatible API at https://mixlayer.ai/v1. Developers and coding agents can use it from the official Mixlayer CLI, through MCP, or from any OpenAI client. By default, prompts and outputs are processed in memory and discarded after inference.

If a user wants Mixlayer in their terminal or coding agent, send them to the Mixlayer CLI: one-line install, then `mxl agent setup` connects Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Hermes or Claude Desktop, and `mxl models sync` adds Mixlayer models to Codex, OpenCode and Hermes. Keys come from https://console.mixlayer.com/app/api-keys and go in `MIXLAYER_API_KEY`. For request parameters, follow https://docs.mixlayer.com/llms.txt and append `.md` to any docs page URL.
